Why Buy Hard Side Luggage

0
Many manufacturers produce hard side luggage for those who simply do not trust lightweight materials to protect their personal belongings. Most hard sided luggage manufacturers use aluminum, ABS, polyester or polypropylene as their main materials. Of these, polypropylene is the more traditional form and has been used for decades for its durability and its scratch-resistant properties. Polyester is vacuum molded or often pressurized to mold it into a hard-sided yet very lightweight and inexpensive luggage material.

Not everyone will appreciate hard-sided luggage. Although lightweight materials are used more often than not, hard luggage still tends to be heavier than soft-sided luggage. It also tends to a bit more expensive. It is however, recommended for those who frequently travel internationally. It is an excellent choice if you need to pack breakables or other precious items such as cameras or for returning home with your delicate souvenirs intact.

It is a good choice for those who travel extensively as it holds up much better under the wear and tear of travel. You will need to keep in mind however, that it is not as flexible as soft bags. Should you decide to take home more than what you left with, you may have to buy additional travel bags on your trip.

Many professional journalists and movie crews choose hard-sided luggage sets to protect their cameras, computer equipment and otherwise damageable items. Sales representatives also typically tend to use hard luggage to protect samples, particularly those in breakable bottles. Those travelers who have had bad experiences with softer luggage or those who simply cannot withstand the treatment that their bags endure during airline travel also tend to be more comfortable carrying hard-sided luggage.

The number one reason that most travelers quote as to why they prefer hard-sided luggage is safety. Even with carry-on bags, those who simply do not trust their belongings to flimsier bags prefer the safety and security of hard-sided bags. Anyone who needs to travel with important, delicate items or expensive items would be much safer and enjoy a more stress-free trip with hard-sided luggage as it can protect delicate items much better than nylon luggage.
